Families today face an overwhelming landscape of information and limited time to sort through it all. On February 26, 2026, the Center for Resilient Families will host a community-wide conference focused on understanding how parents and children find, use, and trust mental health resources and how these supports can be made more accessible and effective.
“How Are Parents Accessing Resources and How Do They Want Them? What Resources Are Children Accessing and How Can We Help Them Find the Right Ones?”, will take place at ASU SkySong in Scottsdale, Arizona.
Designed for parents, caregivers, practitioners, educators, and community members, the conference invites attendees to join a collaborative conversation about the tools families rely on and the challenges they face. With mental health concerns rising and support systems evolving, organizers hope the event will spark new ideas to improve access across diverse communities.

Why Attend: Families today face a flood of information and limited time to find the right mental health support. But how helpful are these resources, and how can we make them more accessible, relevant, and effective?
Hosted by Arizona State University Reach Institute, this conference brings together parents, practitioners, and other members of the community to explore how we can make resources more accessible, relevant, and effective.
What We'll Explore:
• What resources children and parents use and trust
• The promises and perils of social media for mental health support
• Gaps in access for underserved communities
• What formats work best, and why
• How to co-create solutions with families
Panel Discussion: Why is getting help so hard? Understanding the barriers families face
Provider shortages, long wait times, and insurance barriers can make early support difficult to obtain. This panel will explore how these access issues affect families and highlight practical strategies to help children and parents connect with care before they reach a crisis point.
Interactive Discussion: What families are really using and what they still need
Families use many mental health resources, from online tools to school supports, but how well do they meet real needs? Through guided group discussion and hands-on digital activities, we will map what families use, identify what helps, spot gaps, and explore ways to make resources easier to find and more useful.
We hope you can join us and contribute to this important discussion.
